Drink driver caught hours before ban

A drink driver who was caught behind the wheel just hours before a ban for the same charge was due to start, has been put off the road for six years at Dundalk District Court. Dermot O'Connor, Bridge Cottage South, Horsemount, Mallow, Co. Cork, admitted a charge of drink driving arising out of an incident at Main Street, Castlebellinham on June 3 2014. Judge Mary Devins heard how 61-year-old O'Connor was found by Gardai in the County Louth village shortly before 11pm. The Toyota Avensis he was driving had its front wheel stuck on a grass verge and O'Connor was trying to reverse. He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and a breath sample showed he was over the legal limit. Full story on: http://www.independent.ie/regionals/argus/news/drink-driver-caught-hours...
