Driving Lessons Dundalk

How will my first lesson work?

We generally meet learner drivers in Dundalk, Drogheda or at a mutually convenient location and take it from there. A lot of our learner drivers have found it beneficial to do a 2 hour lesson initially as it helped to familiarise them with a new car and also to get comfortable and confident with the vehicle controls.

We will give you regular feedback on your progress and we actively address  any areas we feel you need to work on, or areas that you are not confident in. Coming up to the week of your test you should increase your amount of driving practice and take extra lessons this will fine tune your driving skills.

Night Driving Lessons - Driving in the Dark

At the end of the lesson one will be able to drive competently through a variety of different traffic conditions, in rural and built up areas during night time.

Advanced Driving Lessons

This involves driving competently through a variety of different road conditions including Motorways and dual carriageways, this will increase your driving skills and confidence on the road.

In 2008 to help regulate the teaching standard of lessons in Ireland the RSA introduced a scheme whereby all Driving Instructors had to pass 3 exams to become an ADI (Advanced Driving instructor) or RSA Approved Driving Instructor.

Essential Driver Training (EDT)

EDT Diving Lessons is a mandatory training course (i.e. 12 lessons) that teaches fundamental driving skills to learner car drivers. It is part of the RSA’s Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) scheme and is intended to improve road safety.

Why do I need EDT?

Studies show that young, inexperienced drivers are more likly to die or be seriously injured in collisions. (EDT) is one of several measures the RSA have introduced to help improve critical driving knowledge, behaviour and driving skills. From the 4th of April 2011, anyone applying for a category B learner permit most take the (EDT) course.

What does EDT involve?

EDT is a course of 12 one-hour lessons.

Do Lessons 1-8 in order. By then, you will have built up skills and experience so Lessons 9-12 can be taken in any order.
